Success Habits of the Really Successful

The book that started it all for me was Napoleon Hills’ book

Think and Grow Rich, I couldn’t get enough and really still can’t, I find the subject endlessly interesting.  I was curious about the habits of some of the most respected entrepreneurs today and to see what we can learn from them and their habits.

Tony Robbins

Tony Robbins is a best-selling author and entrepreneur and he uses a daily technique he calls “priming“. He breaks it into three, three-minute segments. He focuses the first three minutes on something simple that he is grateful for. The second three-minutes he “feels the presence of God” and sends positive energy to his family and friends and others. The third three-minutes he calls “three to thrive” where he identifies three results that he is committed to achieving. Tony says that the two things that lead to poor choices are anger and fear and that gratitude can eliminate them both. Some other success and happiness habits he follows are:

Spend 30 minutes a day reading, no skipping

Learn to act in spite of uncertainty, take calculated risks

Develop a mindset of generosity and abundance– feeling abundant (even though reality may be a tad different) and giving often and generously.

Choose your partners wisely, selectively choose people that align with your goals and needs.

Never stop asking the right questions– What are the questions that drive you/your business forward? Where do you find your greatest answers?

“It is in your moments of decision that your destiny is shaped.” – Tony Robbins

Richard Branson

His daily routine includes waking early, exercising and spending time with family. Being punctual he believes is a very important habit so that you can keep your day on track and not get behind.

Create Value in the World– Do something that you love and are passionate about so that you will have the desire to keep at it when things get tough.

Be Innovative–  create something different that will stand out

Lead by Listening–  Listen more than you talk and get feedback regularly from your staff and customers.

Have Fun & Success will Follow!

“For people in this room who want to start something, they just got to think: ‘What’s not being done well by other people? How can I create something that’s really going to make a difference in people’s lives?’ Then hopefully at the end of the year, you’ll have more money coming in than going out.”Richard Branson

Oprah Winfrey

Oprah’s early morning routine starts at 5 am, meditates for 20 minutes and works out on her treadmill, eats a healthy breakfast before she starts work.

Aim for Excellence– Require more from yourself, be the best

Luck is Preparation meeting Opportunity– Be ready when opportunity presents itself

Passion is Energy– Focus on what excites you

The Big Secret– is that there is none. you need to want it and work for it,  no big secret.

It’s all about Attitude– The greatest discovery of all time is that a person can change his future by merely changing his attitude.

Success is not a Goal– Be significant instead

“What I know for sure is that if you want success, you can’t make success your goal. The key is not to worry about being successful, but to instead work towards being significant and success will naturally follow”

– Oprah Winfrey

Bill Gates, Oprah, Warren Buffett, Elon Musk, Mark Zuckerburg and Mark Cuban all believe that reading and lifelong learning are keys to being successful. They read books on self-improvement, success, education and biographies, autobiographies of other successful people.
