90’s Date night menu
Some of our best memories revolve around food, and in the 90’s most of us looked forward to our after school snacks of pizza rolls or hot pockets. Our menu makes these old school favorites a little bit healthier because they are not fried.
Ham & cheese with dijonaise dipping sauce
After the dough is rolled out, cut into 8″ by 8″ squares fill with filling and fold over.
8 Slices Gruyere
16 Slices Virginia Ham
Evenly spread out the ham & cheese in each “pocket,” Use a fork to press the edges together and bake at 350 on a cookie sheet with parchment for 15-17 minutes or until the dough is golden.
Serve with the Dipping Sauce
Dijonaise Dipping Sauce
1/4 cup Mayo
1/2 cup Dijon
1 tsp. Lemon juice
Cheese w/ marinara
After the dough is rolled out, cut into 8″ by 8″ squares (or 4″ by 4″ if you prefer smaller,) Fill with filling and fold over.
1 1/2 C. Marinara plus extra for dipping
1 cup Mozzarella
Add onions, peppers, pepperoni, sausage or any other topping if desired.
Use a fork to press the edges together and bake at 350 on a cookie sheet with parchment for 15-17 minutes or until the dough is golden.
Use marinara for dipping- add sriracha to marinara for extra heat!
Pop Rockin cocktail
1.5 oz, Tequila
4 oz. pineapple juice
splash pomegranate juice
rim with glass with pop rocks
Capri Sun is a perfect non alcoholic drink option
Rice crispy treats with sprinkles
3 tablespoons butter
1 package 10 oz. large marshmallows
6 cups rice crispies
Approx 24 pieces
- In large saucepan melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted. Remove from heat.
- Add rice crispies cereal. Stir until well coated.
- Use wax paper to evenly press mixture into 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan coated with cooking spray. Cool.
Sprinkle with colorful nonpareils or jimmies while still sticky
Cut into 2-inch squares.
Note- You can also melt some semi sweet chocolate in the microwave and dip the ends of the cut rice crispy treats and sprinkle with colorful nonpareils or jimmies.
The first thing that I saw that was so cool in this vintage candy co gift box is the Hubba Bubba, love that stuff. This is a fun addition to your 90’s date night.

Grunge music and boy& girl bands were big. Depending upon your age in the 90’s your music tastes will vary greatly.

Check out Friends, Cheers or Twin Peaks, plus all the other greats including Magic School Bus to feel really nostalgic if you were very young in the 90’s. Sometimes I watch some old school Disney just a little to bring back some memories.
