About a month ago, I ran across an article that listed some words that were untranslatable in English,
the interesting part of these beautiful and insightful words is that they show culture’s emotional vocabulary. They provide a window into how its people see the world, things that they value, or their traditions.
Also we learn about their aesthetic ideals, or their ways of constructing happiness. Its so interesting to see the things that they recognize as being important and worth noting.
Resfeber is a Swedish word that means – the restless race of the traveler’s heart before the journey begins when anxiety and anticipation are tangled together.
I love this word since we all hopefully know what is like to be anxious before an unknown journey whether an actual trip or a life journey.
I think it’s so cool that the Swedish have created a word that so many of us feel, but may not have acknowledged.
